Schools On-site Support (SICTOS)

Qubic has developed its Schools On-site Support (SICTOS) Programme to provide a fully qualified and experienced engineer on a regular basis to undertake the duties of a Network Administrator at a fraction of the cost of a full-time employee.

Under the SICTOS Programme you decide on the number of days or half days that you need an engineer on-site for each week of the academic year to support your Curriculum and Administration Systems. In addition to the agreed days on-site, schools on the SICTOS Programme also receive helpdesk support and unlimited remote diagnosis and fix for Curriculum and Administration ICT issues.

Servers

Servers, both Curriculum and Administration are monitored 24/7 by our NOC; all event logs are checked for major issues that are recorded and resolved. We check the directory and file structure against the predetermined policies. We also examine UPS logs to help identify any power management issues.

Security

We check all security measures are in place based on our ISO 27001 standards including;

  • checking that anti-virus software is active
  • ensuring anti-virus definitions are up to date
  • examining event logs and security threats
  • confirming firewall and content filtering settings

Access Services

We confirm access services are operating at optimal performance including;

  • testing internet connection
  • administering routers and switches
  • confirming operation of VPN or terminal services

User Management

We can add, remove or change users as directed. This includes setting up;

  • user files and directories
  • email accounts
  • remote access
  • application software

General Maintenance

SICTOS days can also be used to setup and maintain individual workstations performing tasks such as upgrading software or hardware by adding extra RAM or disks.

SICTOS – Level 3 – Includes

one

  • 24/7 NOC monitoring
  • unlimited helpdesk support
  • unlimited remote diagnosis and fix
  • 1 on-site day every week during term time

SICTOS – Ad-hoc Days

Any school on the SICTOS programme is entitled to buy additional on-site days that are charged at a subsidised rate.

Subsidised SICTOS days may not be used to configure and add devices to the network that are not supplied by Qubic. If your school requires additional equipment added to your network that has not been supplied by Qubic, we will give you a price to add it – alternatively we can provide equipment at a competitive rate including setting it up and adding it to your network.
